All Fingers and Thumbs
August 6th, 2008What with one thing or another over the last few years, broken thumb, getting married and my kids. i relialsed I had not recorded any new music for a while. So I dug out the last track I recorded, just after the thumb incident. It was more a demonstration to see if I could play again and how I had to adapt.
After listening to it again last week it’s not too bad considering I crushed my thumb. I gave the track a quick brush up and re jigged a few bits. I have the incentive now to record more stuff and improve.
I give you Get A Life!
Recorded with my Ibanez RG565 through a PodXt straight into a PC. All the little solo’s were one takes, thats how I normally work. I Listen to the track then go for it, too scared to try again and fuck it up :-) The harmony bits were done by dipping the “wang” bar. Apart from that pretty standard rock stuff.
So any guitarist out there who ever gets a hand or finger injury don’t give up. You may have to re learn things or even change the way you play. It’s worth it.
